Description
Vicki Graham, from Hooking by The Sea will be hosting a fun and interesting retreat at Harbourview Inn on Friday and Saturday, October 15th and 16th. Vicki is a well-known and respected rug hooker who specializes in teaching others the craft of rug hooking from the production of wool, the spinning of wool into yarn and the creation of hand hooked rugs. Vicki’s teaching style is relaxed, and low-stress while providing a wealth of information. The focus of this retreat will be learning how to spin wool along with information about sheep wool and its history. The retreat will also be a chance for participants to explore some of the local attractions including a visit to the Bear River Winery to sample some of the locally produced wines, dinner at Ye Olde Pub in Annapolis Royal and a Candle-lit Graveyard tour of the cemetery alongside historic Fort Ann.
This package includes accommodations (double occupancy) for Friday and Saturday night, all meals from dinner Friday evening to breakfast on Sunday morning. It will include lessons on spinning and all necessary materials. It also includes tickets for the Candle-lit Graveyard tour. This retreat requires a minimum of 6 participants and a maximum of 14 can be accommodated.
The cost of the “Spin A Yarn”retreat is $399 per person and is based on double occupancy. Sales tax and gratuities are not included.
